Montclair Patch: Montclair Woman Honors Late Son By Keeping His Music Alive
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair woman is honoring the memory of her late son by keeping his music alive.
Naomi Johnson, a former teacher in Newark now living in Montclair, is the mother of Deshon Johnson, also known by his stage name, Sean Cos Mason. And it's clear that she misses him.
"I want my son's spiritual existence to continue to shine," she recently told Patch.
Earlier this month, Johnson helped to posthumously release "4 My Town," her son's tribute to Montclair, a town he was immensely proud of, she said. The song is also available on iHeart Radio, Pandora, Amazon, Instagram, TikTok, Spotify, Apple Music and other online stores. (Watch the YouTube video below).
Johnson, a 22-year-old Essex County College business student who graduated from Montclair High School, was struck and killed by a NJ Transit bus in Bloomfield as he was headed to his job in 2012.
The aspiring hip-hop artist was working a part-time job at the time to help support his mother, who was disabled as a result of a car crash. His death was widely mourned in the community, including at a memorial service held shortly after his passing.
"He was a talented man who knew what he wanted to do with his life," said a friend, Matt Fernandez. "He was very driven and very motivated."
While nothing can replace her son, there is a measure of solace in helping his talent reach other people, Johnson told Patch.
"It's important to me as Deshon's mother to keep his legacy alive through his music, so everyone gets to know him and his musical gift," she said. "Moreover, I want to carry out my son's dream by letting everyone hear his music and let his hometown know he is a product of Montclair's art community."

Deshon, was killed by a Coach USA bus driver who was operating an NJ Transit bus. The driver deliberately ran over Deshon twice then dragged him 50 to 100 feet in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Deshon's mother talks about new evidence that included eyewitness testimony. Naomi, son Deshon, was killed by bus driver Wilson Romain who has a bad driving record, violent attitude, blaming her son for his death, and various forms of severe mental torture by the so-called New Jersey justice system.
Naomi told us her most profound grief as a mother is how the system has and still is treating her son's life as it is of no importance.
The most intense pain on the loss of Naomi's son is that his dream of a hip-hop artist/rapper was stolen from him by Romaine, who still is operating New Jersey Transit. The baffling part to me that the driver was charged in 1999 for speeding but was not charged for killing Deshon when he was speeding.
The system failed this Afro-American mother who became disabled- Wednesday, July 18, 2007, due to Bloomfield, NJ police high-speed chase of a stolen car. And her son, who was killed in Bloomfield, NJ, Wednesday, July 18, 2012, by a speeding bus driver.
Naomi now created a talk show so she can tell her truth and others who have been victimized by transit deadly bus drivers, police, prosecutors, judges, and attorney. She uses the power of television to tell compelling stories about NJ Transit, Coach USA, Essex County Prosecutor, Police, and attorneys corruption on her son's transit demise case.
The Noneillah show provides the most comprehensive forum on issues in the history of television. Naomi has used the show's platform to raise awareness of the ongoing killing epidemic by NJ Transit and Coach USA bus companies' incompetent bus drivers/train engineers.
Naomi wants her viewers to be accessible to stories dealing with NJ Transit and Coach USA bus drivers, killing innocent people in vain with no repercussion. This talk show host is the only person that talks about NJ Transit and Coach USA bus drivers' disregards for human life.
At the Noneillah Talk Show, the host gives intricate detail that you will not find at any other talk show or news that goes into depth about the genocide on New Jersey residence. Moreover-how Governor Phil Murphy and USA Senator Bob Mendez are not creating a law to stop this unhealthy behavior when she approached them about the issues.
The talk show host has been elaborating on hidden issues with transit corruption and how their Chief of Compliance Todd exposes the company disregards for safety.
Naomi feels it is essential to reveal this information to the general public so they can have a clear understanding of the justice system's collaboration to covers up the truth for transit deadly bus drivers.
Noneillah Talk Show and Podcast host uses its top-rated shows to shine the light on critical issues of our time that includes the ""silent epidemics"" of bullying by transit and our justice system. Onward with how transit attorneys corruption, mental abuse by the prosecutors, fabrication, verbal attack on an innocent mother-like herself- who is fighting for justice for her only child Deshon.
Naomi always likes to addresses essential personal and social issues

Princeton Community Television Honoring Deshon Johnson Hip-hop/Rap Artist and Visual Artist Pisces 2020 Birthday
Princeton Television honoring hip-hop artist Deshon Johnson on his March 5 birthday. Deshon's mother and extraordinary guest singer Voice had pay homage to one of New Jersey hottest rapper/hip-hop artist.
Hip-hop artist Sean M aka Deshon was being honored on his birthday on March 5 at Princeton Community Television.
There is a large group of commuter activists fighting the poor services of NJ Transit and Coach USA as if that would be a significant issue with NJ Transit and Coach USA.
There should not be a significant focus on poor services and putting wifi on buses canceled and delayed trains, also "rude conductors, dirty trains, overcrowded trains to the point handicapped, seniors, and pregnant women cannot find seats."
You have an extensive amount of people being killed by the bus drivers; like Deshon Johnson. Correcting poor transportation service can be rectified, but music artist Deshon, who was an innocent person killed by Coach USA deadly bus driver operating NJ Transit cannot be here with his mother to celebrate his birthday.
These severely injured people can not get their body parts back and live a productive life, as they did before their incident. Nor can the victims who were killed can live with their family again.
Please support rapper/hip-hop artist Deshon Johnson music. We appreciate if you show him some love by playing his music, sharing his music, like his music, subscribe to his music, comment on his music, buy his music, and comment on Sean M.
Here is Deshon's friends and associates are still struggling with his injustice death with no justice has been giving to this young talented man murder by Coach USA/NJ Transit bus driver. No, can not find peace in Deshon's deliberate death; during the Essex County Prosecutor cover-up with a fabricated Grand Jury hearing. Deshon could be your son, grandson, cousin, father, brother, nephew, or uncle. It's more comments made by the injustice for Deshon's death; I will like to put up, but it's painful.
Raising Awareness for NJ Transit / Coach USA Murder Victims Deshon and Christine Nobel Ross
Deshon Johnson and Christine Nobel Ross tragically murder by Coach
USA/NJ Transit reckless bus drivers 5 months and 26 days apart
Deshon Johnson and Christine Nobel Ross were friends and were tragically
murder by Coach USA/NJ Transit reckless bus drivers 5 months and 26
days apart from one another. Christine was mowed down Monday, January
23, 2012, in East Orange NJ and Deshon was mowed down Wednesday, July
18, 2012, in Bloomfield NJ. No charges were brought against neither of
the bus drivers; they walked away from these two deaths free men.
Johnson and Ross's lives were taken in vain. The spokesperson for the
bus companies blame these two young victims for their death saying, they
ran into the street as the bus drivers turn the corner. Deshon and
Nobel were at the corner when they were killed. The Essex County
Vehicular Homicide always will tell the public that they will do further
investigation, which is misleading information to the public because
the mishandled of these cases is biased and a conflict of interest
within the prosecutor's office. The head prosecutor detective used to
work for NJ Transit as a Collision Reconstruction so he deems all
cases like an accident. Some of these cases are Vehicular Homicide or
Vehicular Assault vehicular. These two young people's valuable lives
were stolen from them and nothing is being done about this corruption.
They just swept this death under the rug. Only a person with a wicked
heart can do this.
How can these people live with themselves?
There must be Justice for Deshon and Christine!
