On Sunday March 13 Xavier Gatson was awarded with the Deshon Johnson Commemorative College Scholarship in Business. Xavier is majoring in Business Management at Kean .  Deshon Johnson majored in Business Finance when he attended Kean University. Our Founder Naomi Johnson, Deshon Johnson's mother of the Deshon Johnson College Scholarship Foundation like to congratulate our second recipient Xavier for your hard work in earning the award money. Please continue on dedicating yourself in your education like Deshon Johnson who were a talented, gifted and well rounded young man.

Deshon Johnson was murder by reckless Coach USA bus driver Wilson Romaine operating New Jersey Transit bus 709. Romaine drove recklessly when he approach Johnson on the curb, knocked him down then dragged him 50 to 100 feet to his demise. Romaine was not charge or did not get bail money for murdering Johnson. He walked away a free man and was giving his CDL (commercial driving license) the same day and went back driving the bus. Few months after Romaine murdered Johnson on July 18th he was involved in another incident injuring someone else. Deshon Johnson College Scholarship Foundation  

Do you like fundraising, have an interest in helping to make a different for safety of human lives and help Raising Awareness for Innocent People Who Were Killed by Reckless Bus Driver but have a limited amount of time to volunteer? If so, this position may be a good fit for you? Work with the founder of the foundation and community members organize fun and creative fundraising events for the Deshon Johnson College Scholarship Foundation in Montclair/Verona New Jersey.  The money raised goes towards under privilege high school students who want to attend college or students who are already in college.  Also, help fight stigma and educating the community about the high count of innocent lives killed by reckless bus driver and these drivers is not being held accountable for their actions.

                                                

The Deshon Johnson College Scholarship Foundation have two events a year on March 5 and July 18^th.  DJCSF needs help planning and organize fundraising events such as trivia nights, award dinner, raffles, etc. Secure participate and solicit donation items for vent via phone, internet and by visiting business in the area.  Prepare materials for the fundraising event and help with setting up event.  This position will be an opportunity to learn how to plan special events, approach potential donor, and meet other people in the community who are concerned about safety issues.  The committee meets once a month on a weekday evening in Montclair. Before an event meetings are twice a month.

NJ Transit bus driver Wilson Romaine 65 was never sentence, charged nor was any bail money set for the bus driver in death of pedestrian/passenger 22 year old Deshon Johnson from Montclair NJ. On Wednesday July 18, 2012 Romaine failed to pick up Johnson while waiting at the bus stop. Johnson was singling to the bus driver to stop but he continues to drive recklessly when Romaine approached the flat surface handicap curb at the intersection on Broad where victim Johnson stood. When Romaine knocked Johnson down he proceeded to drag Johnson far distance around the corner of Bay Avenue in Bloomfield NJ to his death. Newly discover information shows that Johnson was at the bus front door not rear as Romaine road over Johnson twice with the front and back wheel. 

                                 

On the other hand, NJ Transit bus driver Catherine Collier 67 was sentence a year ago for pedestrian/passenger Mr. Currier from Passaic NJ.  Mr. Currier just existed off the bus on Main and Brook Avenues driven by Collier when she road over the victim Currier as he step off the curb into the crosswalk on Main Avenue when he was killed by reckless bus driver Collier. Collier proceeded to drive while at the intersection as the traffic light was turning from yellow to red and hit victim.

         

According to North Jersey http://www.northjersey.com/news/ex-nj-transit-bus-driver-in-fatal-pedestrian-accident-draws-probationary-term-1.1172860 article Ms Collier, stated “It was not my intention for this to happen,” Catherine Collier, 67, said at her sentencing in state Superior Court in Paterson.  Yet Collier was sentenced to a one-year suspended jail term, which she will not have to serve if she completes probation without violations. The judge ordered Collier to perform 150 hours of community service geared towards educating young adults about safe driving… “That is the only positive message that can come from this double tragedy,” the judge said.

Ex-NJ Transit bus driver Collier was charged with vehicular homicide after the bus she was driving struck and killed 49-year-old Joseph Currier of Passaic on Sept. 27, 2012. Collier initially was charged with a second-degree offense, but later pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree charge of assault-by-auto.

According to NJ Transit bus company/Community Coach USA spokes person stated that it was not Romaine attention to kill Johnson. However, under the newly discover information audio you can hear Romaine confessing twice in seeing victim Johnson.   Also, in the audio you heard the lawyer telling Romaine remember you did not see anyone.

Needless to say, it was not Collier attention to kill Currier but she was charged. Two productive citizens was killed by a reckless NJ Transit bus driver but one bus driver was charged/ suspended from her NJ Transit job for her victim Currier death and the other bus driver was not charged for Johnson death. Here you have two mothers Johnson and Currier devastated by the loss of their sons. Currier ‘son’s killer has limit accountability which is not enough and Johnson’s mother is still fighting to get the bus driver brought up on charges.

The death of these two mother sons hit them very hard and both parents want a stiff sentence. Naomi is seeking for justice her son like Currier.

NJ Transit rep. think money can buy a human life and everyone can move on with their life so it can be done and over with. These two mothers cannot move on with their life they both cannot not spend those special holidays or events with their children. There are no dollar amount for the lost of both parents son. Naomi said that it is hard to put a price on her son’s life.  NJ Transit Bus Company does not put high value on human safety they more concern about dollar signs.
