The Deshon Johnson Memorial Annual Scholarship at Kean University

The Deshon Johnson Memorial Annual Scholarship at Kean University

The Deshon Johnson Memorial Scholarship is in honor/memory of Kean University student Deshon Johnson who was mowed down by a Coach USA bus driver operating NJ Transit bus 709 on his way to work. The bus driver sped around the corner as his back wheel jumped the curb knock him down and dragged Deshon to his demise on Wednesday July 18, 2012.

Deshon's mother Naomi Johnson came together with Kean University to start the scholarship in her son's memory and to give back to students who are unable to meet their educational financial needs. As a college graduate and an Educator Naomi Johnson knows the
obstacle that students faces when it comes to paying your way to college with unlimited financial support. Deshon Johnson was a business major at the University. To read more about this remarkable young man story you can Google his name.
